A: At most receptions you
have a wide variety of ages and musical tastes. The Music
Machine can keep everyone happy with a good mix from the past
to the present; big-band swing, oldies, country, rock, retro,
soul or top-40; what ever it takes to get everyone on the
dance floor and havin' fun! We also guarantee we'll play all
the specific songs you ask for in advance, avoid the selections
you don't want & honor requests from your guests.
Q: Tell me about the actual disc-jockeys you
use?
A: All Music Machine DJ's
have extensive experience in the reception business and we
do not use sub-contractors. The Music Machine is much more
than just a juke box; our people know what to say and what
to play to make your event a success! They can handle all
your announcements, from introducing the wedding party when
you first arrive, to the garter and bouquet toss. You also
don't have to worry about us talking excessively on the microphone
between every song (like a game show host or Top-40 DJ). A
Music Machine DJ is an entertainment professional, polite,
courteous and appropriately dressed in suit or tuxedo.
Although all of our entertainers
are great, some couples want a specific disc jockey from our
company (John Summers is often asked for). The rates are sometimes
higher for certain personalities, but any member of our staff
can be individually requested and assigned to your reception.
Q: Can you meet with us in person in advance?
A: Absolutely! We are available and willing
to sit down beforehand to go over and plan all the details
of your reception (music, announcements, etc.). We want to
make sure your celebration is perfect and fulfills all of
your expectations! We can also offer advise and suggestions,
drawing from our extensive experience and performances at
hundreds of past events.
Q: How good is your equipment?
A: We use the best available
with the majority of our music on compact disc, assuring a
crisp and clear sound. We always carry a complete set of back-up
gear to cover any unexpected failures. Incidentally, the volume
is controlled according to your tastes, not ours. You don't
have to worry about being blown out by music that is too loud.
We also have a light show and special effects, if requested,
including fog and bubble machines, spot lights, mirror balls
and wireless microphones. A Karaoke Sing-A-Long system is
also available (at an additional charge of $100).
Q: Can I afford The Music Machine?
A: Yes! Your wedding will
cost a lot, however, you'll find the entertainment at your
reception will be a very small percentage of the total budget
(although one of the most important parts). Our basic package
starts at $500, we're not the cheapest in town, nor the most
expensive, but we think we're the best! Rates are available

Q: I would like to see your performance in
person... Can I 'drop in' on a wedding that you will be playing
at in the next few weeks?
A: That could possibly be
arranged, however in most cases it would not be appropriate
for us to invite you to someone else's reception. What we
suggest is that you get a reference from other people in the
wedding business (photographers, caterers, venue managers,
etc.). They have seen all of the entertainment services available.
Ask them what they think about The Music Machine. These professionals
can give you an objective and un-biased opinion. Believe me,
you'll be pleased with what they have to say! We'd also be
happy to provide you with names and phone numbers of recent
clients so you can call them directly for a reference.
